Choose cache-aside or another explicit pattern, define keys and TTLs, prevent stampedes, and measure hit ratio. The implementation should be justified by measurable requirements, kept as simple as the problem allows, and validated with realistic tests, telemetry, failure handling, and documented tradeoffs.
